This was quite a surprising read. While I am of the generation that was required to read Faust in world literature class in college, I was at once touched and moved by Goethe's casual elegance and profound reflections on his touring Italy. It is a book that you might not have known you wanted. And if you have been to or are planning to go to Italy, it's a definite must for your TBR list. It can easily be found as a used book, so it's light on the budget, as well. Check out this NYT review from 1986.
